The AB Contracting Team is very proud of The Ridges and the many homes we have built. We take a lot of pictures for use on our website. Most pictures are taken during construction or finishing stages. If you do not want us to use photos of your home, please let us know. If you have pictures of your home that you are willing to share, we would greatly appreciate it. We would love to hear about your building experience with AB Contracting and your new home at The Ridges.

GOOD NEWS! We’ve been “cleared for take-off” for Bunco at the community center! Details follow.
DATE: Thursday, February 10th (And every 2nd Thursday of the month from now until whenever….)
TIME: 7:00 p.m. – ? Probably the 1st meeting will take longer. We’ll play 3 rounds.
WHERE: The Ridges Community Center
BRING: $ we will decide if we put $5 or $10 in the kitty, a snack (that you can eat with your fingers) & a beverage of choice.
Game Overview
Strictly speaking, Bunco is a game of dice, played in rounds. Players take turns rolling the dice and trying to accumulate as many points as possible to win each round. The game is played at tables of four in competing teams of two.
Players score points by rolling three dice and trying to match the number they’re supposed to roll for that round. They get a point for each die that rolls the number, and if all three roll the number they score 21 points. They also score 5 points for rolling three of a kind of any other number. They get to keep rolling as long as they score one or more points with each roll. Once they fail to score they pass the dice to their left and the opposing team gets a chance to score.
During each round the teams at the Head Table try to score 21 points. The first team to score 21 points wins the round and play stops. At all other tables play stops when the Head Table play stops and the team with the highest score at each lower table wins the round.
At the end of the round players change seats, the winners at each of the lower tables move up a table, and the losers at the head table move to the lowest table. Players also switch partners at the end of the round, so you never play with the same partner twice in a row.
During play, players track the number of rounds they win and lose as a team, and the number of Buncos scored individually, on their personal scorecard. At the end of the night wins/losses and Buncos are tallied and prizes awarded.
Now the truth…
Bunco is a social event. It’s a party. It’s a blast!
We get together once a month, leaving the cares and worries behind, and leaving the kids with their fathers or baby-sitters.
We fall off our diets, snacking on M&Ms, Chex-Mix, or anything else we can get our hands on. We drink our favorite wine, Beer, or Drink-of-the-night, and we talk.
We talk about our kids. About the neighbors. About anyone who didn’t show up. About our husbands, our jobs, their jobs, the builder in our community, TV shows, current events, and anything else that might tickle our fancy.
Oh yeah, and we play a silly, mindless dice game with wild abandon, hoping to take home a few more dollars then we arrived with.
We are also starting a BOOK CLUB. The Book club will meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
We are so excited to have a brand new MODEL HOME at THE RIDGES!
Construction is almost complete. We hope to start showing off the new home at the end of March.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our “Walk for Batten’s Disease” (Saturday July 10 at The Ridges) We had a wonderful time and the event was successful – we raised nearly $3,700.00!

WCHS/FOX 11 will be in your community, possibly this Thursday or Friday, to get some footage for a new commercial. They may ask a few of you for your photo/film release. The new commercial will show sometime in late August or September. I will keep you posted on its date.
Our fundraiser for BATTEN’S DISEASE will be on SATURDAY JULY 10th. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the walk will start at 8:00am. Panera Bread will be set up in the community center following the walk. The walk will be a $20 dollar donation to the BDSRA organization, that is for each person walking. Please feel free to invite your friends and family to walk with us for Batten’s disease. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please email cindy@abcontractingwv.com

The article appeared this past Sunday in a special section called “OUTLOOK 2010 WEST VIRGINIA CONSTRUCTION”
…There will be 247 residences, either single family homes or duplexes.
…Bell’s company has constructed 78 houses so far, with 9 going in and 5 other foundations to put in “as soon as the weather will allow”, he said.
…”Since November, we’ve sold 9 lots”, he said. Bell said interest rates are low and “building materials are at a very good price, and so if a person is going to build, I don’t think there is going to be a better time for a long time, because rates will go up soon.”
